The business practices responsible sourcing with regards to local ingredients and utilises local suppliers where possible. The business aims to empower and grow the local community. This commitment encourages economic growth and ensures a self-sustaining future market.

  • 4,160 solar panels were installed in 2015. Kuredu was one of the first to launch such projects in the hospitality industry in the Maldives.
  • Kuredu’s bottling plant opened in 2013. The resort’s in-house production of drinking water produces up to 60 000L each month, the water is bottled in reusable glass bottles and reduces the use of plastic bottles by up to 440 000 bottles per year.
  • Kuredu was co-sponsor of the Lhaviyani Turtle Fest in 2017, in Naifaru. Set up to help raise awareness amongst the local population, experts educated the local school children about the current threats to the marine environment, and how they can help.
  • Kuredu has achieved the internationally recognised Travelife for Hotels & Accommodations Gold Certification. Travelife, the sustainable tourism certification scheme, has assessed Kuredu’s performance in responsibly managing its socio – economic and environmental impacts.
