Sustainability at Kudadoo

The Maldives offers one of the world’s most enchanting and fragile eco-systems, and the incredible natural environment around the paradise islands is one of the country’s biggest attractions. On Kudadoo sustainability and care for the environment are of great importance. Materials and products are carefully selected, ensuring eco-conscious luxury in harmony with nature.

The Retreat is an essential part of the architectural statement of Kudadoo, 300kW of solar panels are incorporated within the design of the sloping roof of The Retreat, which can fully power the island – one of the first such sustainable luxury resorts of its kind in the Maldives.

As an environmentally conscious resort, Kudadoo’s sustainability philosophy extends into various aspects of the private island’s experience. The stylised solar panel installation is complemented by environmentally friendly straws, amenities, responsible sourced building materials and glass-bottled water; every element has been considered in an effort to minimise the resort’s eco-footprint.

The spa products and room amenities were created in partnership with Healing Earth. These amenities contain bio-identical active ingredients, organic essential oils and Fairtrade botanicals meticulously chosen for their unique healing properties. Not only are the product’s ingredients natural and biodegradable – the products are packaged in recycled glass bottles.
